I wanged to let you know that we drew your name for the custom workouts! Contact me via the ‘ask us your swimming questions’ tab so I can e-mail you some questions b4 we write your workouts~

  2. The cover looks great! All your hard work has definitely paid off. Congratulations! I can’t wait to hold a copy in my hands.

  3. Congratulations! It must feel great to have reached this stage. I can’t wait to get a copy of the book and tell everyone about it. I really like the cover!

    • Thanks Trevor! I wanted to thank you for all your help testing workouts behind the scenes. We’re going to give you a copy so I need you to e-mail me your mailing address. I’ll send you the final cover with your quote as soon as I have it. You’re awesome and your feedback was invaluable!

  4. Excellent! Waving celebratory pennants and blowing little toot-y horns here!
Best of success with your book….!

    • Hahaha! Thanks for being so awesome, Grammadog! I hope you like the custom goggles we’ll be sending your way! Send me your address via the ‘ask usyour swimming questions’ tab and make sure you post a pic rocking those goggles! You’ll need to get the book so you match 😉

  5. Awesome, great job girls!! Can’t wait to hear (& read) more about it!!

  6. What an awesome accomplishment. I hope people take advantage of this great book to further their competitions!!!

  7. Your cover looks fantastic! Very exciting. My dad self published a book last year so I have some understanding of how you must feel now. 🙂 Congratulations.

    • Thank you! What is the title of your dad’s book? Will he be writing another? We ended up adding a prize last night: a swim cap from Alaska and a swim cap from Hawaii. I think they’ll be an exotic thing to have in the land down under! Congrats – contact us via the ‘ask us your swimming questions’ tab with your mailing address so we can send them your way!

      • WOW! An Alaskan cap might just stop me whinging about how cold the water is. It’s probably not by comparison. 🙂
Dad’s book is “Of Greater Worth Than Gold – The History and Legacy of Isabella Murray”. It’s a detailed history of one branch of our family tree. Not everyone’s cup of tea but well-received by his target market. Will contact you with my address. Thanks again.

      • I think that is really neat! My first book has gold in the title too! “Alaska Gold: the History of Gold Dredge No. 8,” and is also a very niche project. I think it awesome to talk to other self/small publishers. Give your dad my regards and admiration!

  8. Congratulations – love the cover! And the title and subtitle are definitely grabbing my interest, as I’m signed up for my first Triathlon. I’m about to start my training so this is perfect timing!

    • Molto Vivace, congrats on winning our grand prize, an autographed copy signed by the three of us! It will take some time b4 it arrives, at least 6 weeks from when we go to print, plus the time for shipping between the three of us. I hope we can get it to you b4 your first tri because it would be a fantastic training tool! Make sure you message us your mailing address via the ‘ask us your swimming questions’ tab. Glad you found our blog!

  9. Great job, it looks fantastic. I’m sure you’ll do very well with it.

    • I hope so! We’re really excited about the whole thing! I wanted to let you know you won the short belt! Hope you get good use out of it! Send me a message via the ‘ask us your swimming questions’ tab with your mailing address. Enjoy!

      • That’s amazing! Thanks, I never expected anything. You all have been a source of inspiration and invaluable training tips and motivation while I was preparing for my marathon swim. Thank you so much and keep up the great work. 🙂

      • Thanks Mike! It has been lots of fun getting to know you and watching your progress. Now that you have the short belt you’ll have to find another big open water swim 😉 Have you ever considered the channel?

      • Ha ha! Yes I thought about it for about a millisecond! 🙂 You have to book 2 years in advance, and it costs about £2000 (not sure what that is in dollars.) I’ve thought about the Straits of Gibraltar which is about 16km and costs about 1700 Euros to do, (again, not sure about the dollar equivalent) – and it will be much warmer than the Channel. Maybe one day…… you have to aim high, right?

      • Ugh, I know! That whole 2 years in advance thing is such a pain in the butt! I didn’t know what it costs now, so thanks for sharing those numbers. Whatever happened to the days where you could just jump in the water and swim??? You can get away with it here in the states. You up for some traveling?

  10. It looks wonderful!! I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy….I’d love to review it when the time comes!! 😉

    • Thank you! I will send you a copy if you get me your mailing address via the ‘ask us your swimming questions tab.’ I can’t wait to read your review – I hope you like the workouts as much as we do! You are too kind to offer to review it, thank you!

  11. Congratulations! Having two of my past coach’s (Maria and Katie) names on that book is so amazing to see! Maybe triathlons will be my next step!

    • Hey Lauren! I think they should be, I think you’d take well to biking and running and you’ve already got a great handle on the swim! Its awesome to see you be so active on our FB page and blog and your support means a lot to me! I have to tell you I was glad to pull your name for the starbucks card and not the 3 workout card since you’ve already done so many of Pags/my practices. Hope you have a starbucks nearby and that you can use it to get some studying in! Congrats on your college career and best wishes for what comes next! You are awesome!!! Message me your mailing address so I can get it sent your way~

  12. Well done and good luck with the book. You should be really proud!

    • Thanks! We are so excited and proud of it! We pulledyour name for the front breathing snorkel, and it will be interesting to see if you love it or hate it. I love mine. Pags loves hers. Vicky, not so much… I hope you fall into the love camp. Contact us via the ‘ask us your swimming questions’ tab and tell us what color you want b4 we ship it your way. I think it will take longer than shipping within the U.S., but we hope not too long. Congrsts!

  13. Congratulations on this. What an achievement! The cover is outstanding.

    • Hey Mike, thank you for the kind words! Means a lot from a fellow author! We drew your name for a set of custom workouts, but i need to ask you some questions before we write them. Message us via the ‘ask us your swimming questions’ tab. Also, I can’t wait to learn your title when you reveal it! If you ever have any questions on the book front, please ask. This is my second book. While I don’t know everything, I know a lot and I’m glad to share info/experience and encouragement!

      • Many thanks. Will contact. The cover design is definitely a subject requiring extensive thought.

      • I get the impression you’re self publishing too. Are you designing your cover yourself or hiring someone to do it? What programs are you using?

      • It’s fluid. I have designers at my service, and I can contribute as much as I want to the process. One of my proofers is a graphic designer by trade, so that’s possible too. Did you design your own, or hire someone or both?

      • Oh that’s awesome! I would love to have a team. I do everything myself minus the proofreading. I think book’s are made during the editing process so that is the one thing I always get help with. Do you have distribution? I think that is the most challenging part. Are you self publishing or going a more traditional route?

      • Lulu.com distribution outlets online and print on demand…includes Barnes and Noble and many others, including Lulu.com itself.

      • I like the website a lot! Thanks for sharing their info. I’m going to go check out their price breaks now that I’m on my desktop. Let me know how you like working with them!

  14. Wow… I sure need that book.. been bad at my swim for so long and by the way the cover looks awesome

    • I will tell you what, we’d already held the drawing by the time you found us but all your comments have been awesome. I look forward to reading your blog and will send you a copy if you’ll write a review. Send me your address via the ‘ask us your swimming questions’ tab. Thanks for stopping by!!!

      • Sure thing will do, I even went to great lengths to draw up my own drills and laminate it on my own so it doesn’t get wet when I put it on the pool side.

        Cheers
        Isaac

      • No way, you are really dedicated! We want to make it available as a waterproof book in the future but until then, I’d probably just put it in a plastic bag or waterproof case. I hope you enjoy it, but it will take awhile before we can ship it. I think it will be good for you. Of course, if you have any questions you can just ask~

  15. Contest closed. Thanks everyone!!! Have a great day~

  16. Had to have the book! Just bought it for the Amazon Kindle for Mac. Really excited about using it, and blending the workouts into my training. Thanks again. One suggestion: put the cover on your blog’s homepage with a click through link to Amazon!

    • That is an excellent idea and I’ll work on it asap. I hope you really enjoy the workouts, we put a lot of thought into them and the drills we decided to incorporate. I’m still reading your print version and can already tell you I like what I’ve read. Thanks for the tip~
