If you were a swimmer at the time… you remember when this movie came out:
From the perspective of any true swimmer, this movie was simply ridiculous. If we watched it…it was to make fun of it. But thankfully, there is a new film on the horizon that would finally do right by the swimming community. A friend of ours and USA Swimming Correspondent, Mike Gustafson, recently wrote about a new documentary currently in production, which follows Missy Franklin and Kara Lynn Joyce in the build-up to the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Read his article and follow the link to a trailer here: http://www.usaswimming.org/ViewNewsArticle.aspx?TabId=0&Alias=Rainbow&Lang=en&ItemId=5077&mid=12660
As you’ll read in the above link, the film is currently in post-production, and looking for funding…$110,000 to be exact. The creators of Touch the Wall are turning to Kickstarter to raise the money, and that means we can all have a part in bringing this documentary to life! It’s actually pretty exciting if you’re a “swim fan”, because if you donate to the Kickstarter project, you could get perks like seeing your name in the credits…all the way to VIP tickets to the premiere and a stroke clinic from one of the featured Olympic athletes!
We can’t wait to see it and we’ll definitely be doing our part!!!
