As swimmers, we’ve definitely experienced some of this. Remember that relative who inevitably asks, “What sport do you play again?”

How about the aunt who wants to know how many times you can “go back and forth in the pool before you get tired”.

Or this one… “Do you know Michael Phelps? He’s soooooooooooo hot!”

And my personal favorite… “Do the guys ever get boners in their speedos because they’re looking at girls in swimsuits all day?”

What are some of your favorites? Feel free to share below!!!

  1. Here’s another good one. “Do swimmers really pee in the pool?” Yes, yes they do. And every time you tell a non-swimmer that, they are appauled.

  2. That is hysterical! 4 more days and back in the pool.. Can’t wait!

  3. I’m always amazed at the people who can run 26.2 yet when you even mention swimming 2.4mi they shriek, “ahhhh, how boring, I barely last 10 minutes!!”….
I swear, the run is the MOST boring part of triathlon….and if someone is THAT bored training for and racing the swim, obviously they aren’t doing it right!! 😉
