Getting My Feet Re-wet

So I finally did it. I got back into the water after being “dry” for over a year! I managed about 3,000 meters and I have to say, I definitely missed it! For someone who has been a swimmer her whole life, a year out of the water is a really long time. I feel like I’ve found a part of me that was missing.

I forget how it makes me feel. That hungry, exhausted, sleepy feeling I used to know so well. A busy job schedule made it hard for me to get to the pool, but I’m happy to say I’ll for sure be making it a part of my weekly routine now.

For those interested, here’s the workout I did:

2×400 warm up = 100 swim, 100 kick, 100 drill, 100 im

200 free w/snorkle

2×400 100 each stroke = 25 drill, 25 kick, 25 swim, 25 kick. HR= 150

200 free w/snorkle

4×100 free HR = 160, 20 sec rest

8×50 alternating 50 free 50 back HR = 170+, 20 sec rest

200 warm down

Total meters = 3,000

It’s been a full day since I did this workout and I’m not sore at all! Time to step it up!!! I’m happy to be back in the pool : )
